(May 28, 2004) -- LBPD detectives have arrested 27 juveniles and one adult suspected in a five-month string of armed robberies.
Police say the suspects in at least a dozen hold-ups typically approached victims, exchanged words with them, threatened them with a handgun and took money, wallets and cellphones. The alleged robberies took place in an area between Hill St. and Anaheim St. and LB Blvd. and MLK Ave. from December, 2003 through April, 2004.
Detectives also served three search warrants where they say evidence was found. And, LBPD says, their investigation is ongoing.
