(Nov. 14, 2006) -- A 30-year old LB resident was shot to death in the 6300 block of LB Blvd. on Monday, November 13.

LBPD says that at about 7:21 p.m., James Royal of Long Beach was standing in a liquor store parking lot when he was approached by two subjects. "Words were exchanged and one of the suspects pulled out a handgun, and fired it at the victim striking him multiple times.

The suspects, described as two male African-Americans, fled through the alley at the rear of the store," LBPD says in a release, adding that the "shooting is possibly gang-related, and is still under investigation."
