(Nov. 26, 2006) -- LBReport.com is pleased to report that this doggie -- a 1 1/2 year old retriever mix) who received pain-relieving orthopedic surgery paid for by Friends of LB Animals (FoLBA) -- now has a new home.
FoLBA president Shirley Vaughan says she learned that on Sunday (Nov. 26) SPCA/LA successfully concluded his adoption process with a new owner.
LBreport.com reported two days earlier that after taking the doggie in, LB Animal Control officers realized he was in pain. A local veterinary hospital determined that he needed orthopedic hip surgey (and without it, he might have faced a euthanasia needle).
So FoLBA provided the funds to cover Montana's surgery...and he's now pain free.
There are plenty of other doggies and kitties needing good homes at LB's Companion Animal Village (Animal Control/SPCA-LA complex at 7700 E. Spring St.)
And FoLB President Vaughan adds, "If you're not in a position to adopt, please consider joining Friends of Long Beach Animals (www.FOLBA.org) who regularly assists with the special medical needs of animals that are housed at Long Beach Animal Control."
