ELB Noon Hour Bank Robbery, Los Coyotes/Wardlow Downey Savings branch inside Ralphs Mkt.

(October 25, 2002) -- A quiet ELB neighborhood near Los Coyotes Diagonal and Wardlow Rd. was the scene of a noon hour bank robbery today.

LBPD says that at approximately 12:26 p.m., officers responded to a bank robbery in the 3300 block of Los Coyotes Diagonal (5th Council district). A Downey Savings branch is located inside the Ralphs market at Los Coyotes Diagonal and Wardlow Rd.

Officers learned that two male Black suspects entered the bank armed with a handgun, took an unknown amount of money and left on foot.

LBPD says the suspects got into a stolen blue Toyota Camry, drove from the scene, caused a traffic accident in which a car overturned, then changed cars at a nearby location.

LBPD and the FBI are investigating this crime. Anyone with information is asked to contact LBPD Detective Dan Pratt at (562) 570-7464.
