(October 5, 2004) -- No, it wasn't Mt. St. Helens.
A car on northbound Clark Ave. and Wardlow Rd. somehow hit a fire hydrant in the intersection's northeast quadrant, launching a water geyser about 15-20 feet high.
The car continued onto a home's front lawn and ended up at the garage.
The lawn and garage were somewhat injured...
...and car took some lumps...but the driver appeared to be relatively unscathed. (When we arrived at about 5:30 p.m., the driver was dealing with a tow truck operator.)
Police awaited other personnel who dealt with the geyser.
