(Sept. 8, 2003) -- A man believed to be 18-22 years old was fatally shot while walking in the 1100 block of Pine Ave. in the 1st Council district on Sept. 7 shortly after 11:30 p.m.

LBPD says the unidentified man was confronted by a suspect(s) on foot who shot at him several times. Police say the victim ran southbound and tried to hide behind a vehicle, but the suspect(s) confronted him and fired still more rounds.

The victim continued to run...and eventually collapsed. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead just after midnight.
