Police Need Immediate Help In ID'ing Victim of ELB Suicide Attempt, Entry To Park Estates From Bellflower Blvd. South of Atherton St.

(September 22, 2003) -- LBPD is seeking the public's immediate help in identifying the victim of an ELB suicide attempt on a pathway leading to the Park Estates neighborhood from Bellflower Blvd. just south of Atherton St.

In a written release, LBPD says that about approximately 12:40 p.m. it found a man had sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

The unidentified victim is described as a white male, 20-25 years old, with short brown buzzed hair, 5'5" to 5'8", 140-160 pounds and medium complexion. He was wearing a white T-shirt, a black hooded pullover, blue jeans, black "Vans" shoes and wearing a black beaded necklace with a cross around his neck.

Police say the victim (as of roughly 8:10 p.m.) was listened in extremely critical condition. Police are hoping to quickly identify him so his family can be notified.

Anyone who may recognize the physical or clothing description of the victim is urged to contact LBPD at (562) 435-6711
