In a flier, Pools of Hope says that since its 1963 inception, physicians have referred clients of all ages to its enclosed facility at 6801 LB Blvd. They have two pools providing year-round access.

"No one is turned aaway because of their inability to pay," says their flier.

VIP attendees at the Sept. 13 event included 9th district Councilman Val Lerch. He watches the proceedings alongside Ms. Pat Dixon of Pools of Hope.Pools of Hope 9/13/03

Sponsors for annual fundraisers included LB Firefighters Local 372...whose members served up hotdogs. (No wisecracks about the supervising clown, please). Local 372 also chips in with a donation during the year.

Other supporters include Southwest Airlines and Simmons Mattress and the California Endowment of Woodland Hills.
