(September 10, 2005) -- Three people were shot, and one died, as violence befell the 1300 block of Gaviota Ave. on Friday night Sept. 9.
In a writen release, LBPD says that at approximately 9:00 p.m., a caller reported the shooting...and patrol officers arrived to find three victims, one of whom later died.
LBPD says a group of roughly five male victims was standing and talking in a driveway when roughly six male Asian suspects approached from across the street, walked onto the roadway toward the victims...and shot numerous times into the group. The suspects then fled on foot.
A 18 year-old male from LB was wounded in the upper torso. A 13 year-old male from LB was shot in the right leg. A 14 year-old male from LB was shot in the right leg and right arm.
The two wounded juveniles were treated and released. At roughly 12:00 a.m. on Sept. 10, the 18 year-old shooting victim, Carlos Hurtada, died.
