Extended Coverage With On-Demand Audio Mayor Foster, City Mgr. West At Wrigley Ass'n Urge Voter Passage Of Infrastructure Property Parcel Tax / Prop I & Field Audience Q & A; Opponents Invited To Speak In Early October
(Sept. 9, 2008) -- LBReport.com provides extended coverage with on-demand audio of LB Mayor Bob Foster and City Manager Pat West at the Sept. 8 Wrigley Association meeting.
In a roughly one hour presentation, Mayor Foster and City Manager West urged voter passage of the City Hall written Infrastructure Property Parcel Tax / Prop I and fielded audience questions, some from the floor, some anonymously on cards.
Kathy Ryan and Tom Stout of the LB Taxpayers Ass'n were in the audience. The Wrigley Association has invited Ms. Ryan (who wrote the ballot argument against Prop I) and Mr. Stout to speak at the Wrigley Association's next meeting in early October. Mr. Stout asked the final question heard in the audio below.
Roughly 75 people attended the Mayor/Manager presentation at the Veterans Park social hall. Among those we spotted in the audience: First Lady Nancy Foster, Councilmembers Bonnie Lowenthal, Dee Andrews and Tonia Reyes Uranga, Mayoral Chief of Staff Becki Ames and Chief of Police Anthony Batts.
There are no edits in the Mayor or Manager's statements with one exception: in part to conserve file space, we pick up the Mayor's remarks after a brief introduction of budget figures when he begins discussing infrastructure and the ballot measure. Edits elsewhere (generally for tangential issues or digresions) are indicated in each case with a "whoosh" sound.
LBReport.com sound is in the MP3 format.
