Sheriffs Pursuit Ends in El Dorado Park Estates Area, Alleged DUI/Impaired Driver Arrested; Heavy Law Enforcement Presence Rattles Neighborhood Nerves

(April 16, 2004) -- Several LBReport.com readers reported police activity (including news helicopters) shortly after 7 p.m. on April 15 over part of El Dorado Park Estates area, south of Wardlow Rd. in the vicinity of Val Verde and Armourdale Aves. not far from Newcomb Academy (Elementary School).

LBReport.com has learned that it was an L.A. County Sheriffs pursuit that ended in the area.

Several LBReport.com readers reported seeing the police activity, including law enforcement air units shining bright lights into the neighborhood. LBPD had some units to assist...but the pursuit was LASO's.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Lakewood station tells LBReport.com that a possible DUI or otherwise impaired driver allegedly disobeyed deputies...and after a pursuit through Lakewood and LB, he was taken into custody.

No injuries, but in the wake of the Los Altos area robbery a few hours earlier (separately reported by LBReport.com in which two suspects got away, lots of frazzled nerves.
