OR call "Friends" at 988-SNIP (7647) Donation: $25. Friends of LB Animals is run entirely by volunteers. In 2008, its SNIP (spay/neutering) program paid $108,237 to spay/neuter 2,005 animals (883 cats, 1,117 dogs and 5 rabbits). Over the past 10-1/2 years, the group has paid $635,983 for the spaying/neutering of 8,917 cats, 6,026 dogs, 118 rabbits and one hamster (15,062 animals in total since July 1, 1998). "You and we are preventing millions of animals from being born, only to be euthanized or subjected to cruelty," the group says on its website. FoLBA facilitates humane education through the LB Unified School District, pet adoptions...and pays special medical bills for shelter animals and provides shelter assistance (supplies, toys and more). The LB Playhouse event is one of the groups three major annual fundraisers. For further information (and a printable flier), click here.
