Two More LB Businesses Hit In String of Comm'l Burglaries
(January 22, 2005) -- LBPD says two more LB businesses are the latest victims in a series of commercial burglaries stretching back to late October.
The two businesses were burglarized within the past two days in the early morning hours after the suspect(s) broke a window.
- On Jan. 20: a restaurant in the 1200 block of Wardlow Road.
- On Jan. 21: a business in the 1300 block of Gladys Avenue.
The series commercial burglaries, first reported by LBReport.com in December following a newstip from a reader, typically include a suspect(s) who breaks a window and enters a business, taking cash from registers or safes before fleeing, LBPD said in a written release.
The majority of targeted businesses have been restaurants, but have also included retail stores. Within the last two days, two additonal businesses have been burgarized in the early morning hours, after the suspect(s) had broken a window.
In an effort to apprehend all persons responsible for these burglaries, the Long Beach Police Department has commited additional resources to assist detectives in their very intense and thorough investigation. As a result of this ongoing investigation, several suspects have been arrested for burglary and detectives are attemping to determine if these suspects are responsible for any burglaries winthin this series.
