Field of Dreams & Mother's Day Joy: Coach Percy's Mom Gives LBReport.com Emotion Filled Update

    Coach Percy

    Introduction

(May 10, 2003) -- LBReport.com spoke today with Thelma Percy, the mother of ELB Pony League Baseball Coach Ron Percy.

As our readers know, Coach Percy -- father of two and a widely admired figure in the league's Mustang Division -- sustained extremely serious injuries in a March 29 traffic collision at Palo Verde Ave./Carson St.

LBReport.com covered the story, as well as an April 24-26 baseball tournament held at Heartwell park to generate proceeds for Coach Percy's family.

Coach Percy's mother told us the following today:

A few days ago, I was reading a story to Ron about baseball. I asked him, "Ron, did you like that story about baseball?"

For the first time, he nodded his head "yes."

Ron has been squeezing our hand, responding to us.

A few days ago, he gave us a thumbs up.

I am so grateful for all the prayers and support of so many people, including your readers.

This is the best Mother's Day gift I could wish for.

    Happy Mother's Day, Mrs. Percy.
