Woman Found Dead In NLB Residence...And LBPD Says It Was Homicide

(Sept. 14, 2016, 12:40 p.m.) -- A woman (adult) was found dead in a North Long Beach residence on Monday (Sept. 12)...and LBPD believes it was a homicide.

[LBPD release text] -- On Monday, September 12, 2016, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Long Beach Police were dispatched to assist Long Beach Fire Department personnel with a deceased individual, at a residence in the 6700 block of Gardenia Avenue.

Arriving officers found a female adult who sustained injuries to her upper body. Homicide detectives also responded to begin their investigation.

The Los Angeles County Coroner will make positive identification and notify next of kin.

A motive is unknown and no suspect information is available at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
