Man Is Shot Early Sat Nite, 1300 block Dawson Ave., just north of Anaheim St. (4th Council district)

(November 19, 2016, 9:30 p.m.) -- In the second Long Beach shooting within four hours, a man (adult) was shot at early evening Saturday (Nov. 19) in the 1300 block of Dawson Ave., (just north of Anaheim St. between Junipero and Cherry Aves. in the western portion of the 4th Council district.) The crime scene is just a bit north of the 2200 block of E. Anaheim St...and the NE corner of Anaheim/Dawson is the site of a building housing a number of businesses including the HQ of LB's United Cambodian Community.
In preliminary information LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Brad Johnson tells LBREPORT.com that at about 7 p.m. on November 19, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Dawson Ave. regarding a hit shooting; upon arrival, officers found a man (adult) with a gunshot injury; he was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
It's currently unknown if the shooting was gang related; LBPD's investigation is ongoing.
As previously reported by LBREPORT.com, at roughly 3:15 p.m., a man was shot in the area of Pacific Ave./6th St. (1st Council district.)

It's the second shooting in November in the 4th Council district (represented since May 2015 by Councilman Daryl Supernaw, and prior to him Councilman/now Assemblyman Patrick O'Donnell from mid-July 2004 to Dec. 2014.] On Nov. 5, 2016, a man was fatally shot in the area of Anaheim St./Spaulding St. (west of Junipero Ave.)
